Code of Standards for the Divorced Fathers Network

There are two questions every Divorced Fathers Network parent must answer positively before taking any action. It is suggested that any action do no harm and produce a win/win for everyone involved.

  1. Does the action I am considering do no harm?
  2. Does the action I am considering produce a win/win situation for my children, myself and my children's other parent?
Group Procedures and guideline for speaking in Divorced Fathers Network Co-Parenting classes
  1. Guidelines for Check-ins when necessary.
  2. State if you want feedback or advice from the group.
  3. Do not interrupt the speaker.
  4. Do not give advice unless asked.
  5. Be concise when speaking. Remember others need to talk too.
  6. Speak about your thoughts, feelings, situation and plans.
  7. Do not dwell on your children's mother or the court system, both are beyond our control.
  8. Model good communication skills for the newer DFN member
